I was stationed in Iceland when I was in the Air Force. They were quit a sight there. Lots of color.

I like surfing these aurora pics.
We saw the Northern Lights in central PA one night in the fall of 2003 when there was one of those solar storms. There was an article in the paper about the storm, and I'm like, "wouldn't it be funny if..." I had never seen an aurora in real life before, despite living in WA for 14 years.
Then we saw it that one evening. I simply can't describe that red and how it looked like these streaming rays coming down toward the earth and it looked like something you would have seen on Star Trek. It was, in a word, awesome.
