I have been considering something the past few days. It seems like I am able more and more offline to not bring up reformed theology all the time. But, online when it comes to other message board's other than the PuritanBoard, I tend to really cram that stuff down people's throats, to be quite honest. I know that turns people off, but I just find myself trying to prove that reformed theology is right because I know that it's what the Bible teaches.

I have considered just posting here on the PB. I love reformed theology, what can I say? I know that I need to grow in terms of being gracious toward those who differ with me on these issues. But, it's easy to get into heated debates, even with non-Christians over what we believe. However, I think that when it comes to reformed theology, I tend to take it even further, because when I'm witnessing to someone who's not a Christian, I'm mindful of their perceptioin of the Christian faith. But, I think when it comes to Christians who disagree with me over the sovereignty of God, I feel like I know something they don't, and I just want so desperately to help them see what God has shown me.

I agree with Rabbi Duncan except for the latter two being "credobaptist" and "independent"

And some dude just quoted his other famous quote on Facebook...oh wait, that was YOU!

Around the same time that I discovered the PB I also joined another discussion board. It was sort of Christian, in that most but not all there claimed an affiliation to some church or other, ranging from Protestant to Roman Catholic and Orthodox, with Church of England being the most common (it was a UK based site). I often found myself in heated discussions (which were allowed and, to an extent, encouraged), mainly over Calvinism and also capitalism versus socialism, where I was opposed to the left wing slant of many of the members there. Anyway late last year I realised that, although I had had many good discussions there and had, at times, been able clearly communicate Reformed doctrine to those who hadn't heard it before, overall I was simply too argumentative, and too often responding in anger or pride rather than humility and charity, and, worst, a bad witness for Christ, so I quit reading and posting there completely. Which was sad in a way, as I made some good friends there, both online and in real life, and I posted far more frequently than I ever have on the PB (I mostly just read here). But I'm glad I did quit, and haven't been tempted to go back; after 6 months away it's so much clear how dreadful my behaviour there really was.
