There is a small bird in the first floor hallway of my apartment building. It was sitting on the ground, but flew up and fluttered at the roof when I walked by, chirping vigorously. I feel very badly for it, and would like to take it outside. But it won't let me grab it, and I probably wouldn't in any case. So how can I get it go outside without touching it, without laying down a trail of bread crumbs, and without this taking until tomorrow morning?
