I recieved this email from my neighbor today and wanted to get the opinions of those here about it
Please review the attached and share with Pastors, teachers, and men who are sound in doctrine.. Have them respond to me and pray for this church. Please take this seriously and give your opinion on whether or not it is sound doctrine according to the Bible, and wise choices made by a pulpit comitte..Would, or could you work along side someone having said these words? How would you handle it? How do you handle it according to the scriptures? How should you treat someone like this?

Let’s stop right there...
What comes to mind when I read that right there...”death no longer has dominion over him; death no longer has dominion over Jesus.”. Hey, that’s a big ordeal. We see a lot of times, we’ll see in some of our larger services where you know brothers and sisters will come to the altar and with the tears, all those, you know that scarred back, all those nail scarred hands (as if he were quoting the person praying) al those, and they get emotional and have an emotional experience over what Christ suffered, what he endured..(pauses) He doesn’t have that anymore. He doesn’t have nail holes in his hands. He doesn’t have bruises on his body. He doesn’t have a wound where he was stabbed with a spear. He’s, he’s healed! He’s been raised, he’s been resurrected, he’s been sent back into a glorious body. That’s a lot of times we focus too much on the death of Christ on the beating and on the crucifixion. That’s what I said, the penalty was paid by his death, but the glory is in his resurrection. We should honor the cross and find victory in the empty tomb. Because if he had of died the penalty would have been paid, but in that empty tomb, the victory was won. The power over death, hell and the grave was won with his resurrection, not by his death, but by his resurrection.
-Transcribed from a Sunday night message given by a young man recently called to pastor a local Baptist Church. He began a verse by verse study in the book of Romans ch.5, October 12, 2008.
Here is a quote although not verbatum he shared with me in private on the way to the hospital:
“We shouldn’t worship Christ, but the father through Christ”
This same young man, started in Romans ch 8 tonight and went all the way through ch.11 stoping on a few verses along the way. He preached armenian doctrine and predestination was solely for being made into the image of Christ. His comments on Romans 8.28 and following verses was that the only one not found in the things that couldn’t separate us from God was ourselves, implying that nothing or noone, but ourselve could separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. In Romans 8:1he stated that the ones In Christ Jesus who walked not after the flesh but after the spirit were not condemened but the ones who walked after the flesh were.
I did a background check and talked to one baptist pastor and one non denominational ministry he had worked with prior to coming to the church I have been serving. The Baptist pastor stated that he had resigned over the doctrine of eternal security, and could not be involved in his ordination service, citing other reasons as well including the whereabouts of 4 years since the time he served his church. The camp he worked with had worked with him 6 years ago and cited his arrogance. Niether men could say much for his present status and doctrinal position. Since leaving the baptist church 4 years ago he attended and worked with a full gospel church and a charismatic church.
Sadly, the pulpit comittee hadn’t done a thorough investigation of his background, or doctrinal position or the eternal security question would have come up. He stated to me in private that he didn’t hold to the doctrine of eternal securtiy. His father is a Jewish Christian, or messianic Jew, his mother a pious christian lady capable of teaching on tithing and prophecy. He stated his desire for her to come and minister.
Could you please respond and give me your opinion on these statements and this issue of his pastoring a baptist church?
It is not my desire to throw stones or hurt this young man so please do not do this in your remarks.
The church has been without a pastor for over a year, and were sincerely praying when they called him. They seemed to think he would be good for the young people and the pulpit comitte was mostly comprised of women. There are not many comitted men in the church. There is only one deacon who gives full attendence as the other is an off shore employee, one more lives away and only comes occasionally.
