We are in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Germany in about a year. If our dates work out, our first Sunday will be spent in the "Romantic Road" area of Bavaria, and our next Sunday will be just outside Erfurt. We don't know the German language well enough to participate in a service. Maybe we should simply have a family service?

There are PCA missions in Landstuhl, Weisbaden. and Nürnberg. I understand that they are aimed at the American community there. Website for Landstuhl (the most developed of the missions) Trinity Reformed Church - Landstuhl, Germany but it is probably way too far. Depending on where you will be, Weisbaden or Nurnburg might be doable the first Sunday.
It's my understanding that there is at least one OPC group meeting in Germany, but I can't track it down with Google. Perhaps some OPCers here can help.

I thought that was a German language outreach in Heidelberg, not American.
In addition, PCA MTW has some German language missionary activity around Berlin, but given the original parameters, I wasn't going to post specifics of that.
Thank you - we will have a vehicle, and we'll have been in Germany for 2 days before the 1st Sunday, so hopefully awake.

If you don't find anything, one idea would be to listen to a sermon either on CD or via the internet (along with any family worship you might do).... this way you don't miss out on the preaching of God's Word.
That's a great idea. On a website for U.S. military families in Germany, I found a list of off-base English speaking churches. There is one near Rothenberg for our first Sunday - I think it was an Evangelical Baptist? Then for the next Sunday, we could listen to our pastor's sermon online, or bring a CD of something. We can also get the service bulletin online which has all the scripture readings and music from the services.
