Seeking an app for cataloging my pastoral library

Greetings PB brethren,

My wife had the excellent idea that we ought to inventory and catalogue the books I use in my Study at the church each day. That seems to me both practical and prudent.

I would love any recommendations for apps to help in this task.

Free is good (finances are tight), though I was given a $10 gift card to the iTunes Store. My preference is that your recommendation be compatible with an iPhone 4.

I do also have a Kindle Fire HD, so Android apps are not out of the question -- though they're not my first choice.

Mobile phones aside I would opt for Microsoft Office which most of us have anyway. It has database and spreadsheet software.

Would you allow your congregation access to your library in any shape or form? I borrow on a regular basis, although saddened that one ministerial friend wrote off a sound "old" commentary and commended modern commentaries which tell me more about the author than the scripture.

This is what I use. It works with both iPhone and iPad.

Open Biblio [ OpenBiblio | Main / OpenBiblio browse ] is good if you have your own domain and web site on which to install it. However, this may offer more detail than you want or need.

The software is free, and is what I'm using for the PCA Historical Center's research library.

For examples of what that system looks like, click this link, PCAHC Research Library
then either search for a title or better yet, leave the search box empty and click "Search" to pull up a full list of titles, then click any one of those entries to see how the bibliographic information is presented.
