Seeking Mentor for Log Seminary

Hello there,

My call into teaching and pastoring came a bit later in my life. I have been seeking ways that I can become better equipped for the edification of the church I am now serving, which is an Independent Reformed Baptist (1689) body. I came across the Log seminary, and it fits well with all my current responsibilities in life (ministry, bi-vocational, 2 young kids). However, it requires a mentor with an M.Div that adheres to the 1788 wcf. Having come originally from a primary non-reformed background into the reformed faith, I do not have many connections there.

I've attempted to search locally and contacted various reformed churches, but replies have been few and far between.

I understand this is a big commitment, but I am seeking a mentor for this program. As of right now, I plan to pursue the Associate and Bachelor's of Theology, and then the M.Div. God willing, I would love to pursue a doctorate as well, but that's a decision for after I complete the main portion.

I'd love to share more about myself and church body in conversation so those that may be willing can have better discernment about my calling and character.

Nice to meet you, Houston. I went to the Log College website to see what's involved and was interested to notice that they might consider also 1658 Savoy or 1689 London, but there was no mention of the Three Forms of Unity.

I hope things work out for you, but if you need another option you could look at City Seminary. It was setup to make opportunities for people in situations like yours, and financial help is available.
