Woke up to 2cm of snow today here in southern Saskatchewan, we were expecting it so it wasn't a big surprise. It is quite early for us to have snow though.

Looking at the forcast it says it will snow for the next few days.....time to put on some warm coffee. So, am I the first PB member to have snow this year?

Snow depresses me, add to the fact that it gets dark at 5pm (soon) here as well and I will be in a mood until Spring. Part of me wishes I could hibernate like a bear.

I can handle fall weather, maybe even my favorite. I own several "western style" jackets that I love to wear, as well as some boots I like. But the winter and getting dark at 5pm is what bums me out.

Now there's something that I don't miss about upstate N.Y. at all!

Where in upstate NY?

From a transplanted Buffalo Native now in Mississippi.

Syracuse.

The 2nd most overcast city in the nation (after Seattle)...home of the most polluted lake in the western hemisphere!

I know what you mean! In the winter when I leave for work it is dark. When I come home from work it is dark. It's easy to get a little down because of it.

What's worst for me is waking up when it's dark! My body just SCREAMS it's not time to get up, it's dark dummy!

Then if it is also cold:banghead:

I think I remember snow last January. Does that count?

Our usual first snow is the first weekend in November. We get a dusting that melts before midday. Then we won't get snow again until mid-Dec. or later. But it is the official change-over of the weather, from the nice October autumn to the threatening Nov. pre-winter weather. Then is settles in, and we get dark miserable wet weather until the real snow hits. By then we welcome the snow, and really admire the outdoors again. Its about then that everyone has their Christmas lights out. What a sight!

THIS I hear you on! We are on the very eastern end of the Central time zone, so it gets dark very early, and is dark in the morning. Worse yet, it gets dark when it is still really warm, which totally messes up this ex-Northerner.

Nope, nice try though. :D

The earliest I've seen snow here was Oct 31st, so we are early for sure. Snow does not usually stay until the middle of November or early December. Maybe people around here should put Christmas lights up, it would look nice.

Woke up to some more snow today and it is still snowing out now. Really windy as well. Feels like December!

y'all should come to New Zealand. Being down south we are just entering summer time now. All I have to do is look out my window to see green pastures, fields, trees rippling in the breeze and forested hills rolling in the background.

That said it was raining this morning...
