Puritan Board Freshman
My time here has been brief and my contributions minimal. However, with the recent goings on of Matt and Pastor Way, I feel that I can no longer be a part of this board as I am in obvious opposition to the moderators of this forum.
So, as I'm sure my presence will not be missed, I bid you farewell. Keep learning and growing in the love of the Lord!
:tombstone:

P.S. I will greatly miss ANT MART!

Sounds like you've got your mind made up, but I hope you would reconsider. Haven't even had the privilege of getting to know you.

Regarding Matt and Pastor Way, I wouldn't be surprised if God helped them work out their differences. Both are godly men who love the Lord and desire that God be glorified in every area of their lives. With those ingredients, reconciliation doesn't seem too far fetched.

Let's keep them in prayer,

Bob

Dan,
Are you fully aware of how that happened? People get banned here for valid reasons. In light of the situation, the overseeing body for the owners suggested that we cut our ties w/ Phillip, based upon his frozen reaction to Matts response.

So long...farewell...auf veder sehn...good bye

Like JohnRSorrell, I have contributed very little to the PB (either financially or theologically). I have contented myself, however, with being a lurker and learning much during the many threads I have read. And, like JohnRSorrell, I too must leave.

{Moderator - inappropriate.}

It seems that if anyone speaks of the Federal Vision in any way that would even SEEM to be favorable, they're banned. If they talk about it with other PB members outside of this forum (ie: email, IM or blog), they're banned. (Did you know that this is a policy? It is!) I am NOT an FV proponent. But I do not think that Doug Wilson or any of his cohorts are to be damned or anathematized. They simply see things differently.

Matt & Scott - if you read this - this next line is important - I want you to pay attention to it and read it twice if you must.

<b> If you cannot articulate another person's beliefs accurately enough so that person would agree that you're stating them correctly, you do NOT understand that person's beliefs.</b>

And, Matt, you have not been able to do that with Doug Wilson. In fact, you really haven't even tried. I've read your diatribe on FV and you've misinterpreted Doug Wilson in several places. And yet you never even attempted to really understand him. That's what bothers me so much. I've listened to your Sabbath series. I've listened to your Covenant Theology series. I've read your "Simple Overview of Covenant Theology" - all because of Joseph's recommendations - and you seem to be so knowledgable and gracious. And this ONE THING seems to have gotten under your skin so much that you've become "ban happy" at anyone who even looks at you sideways with an FV thought. This is something that should be discussed on this board and worked out here. It isn't something to be pushed under the rug and eliminate anyone who you see as the enemy on this subject. It just goes against the man I thought I was getting to know.

Then you go on to say that those people can't even discuss it with other PB members even in emails, blogs or instant messages. Now Matt, how can you regulate that? You may have control over what happens in this forum, but how can you even THINK that you have a right to stop people from discussing it in other forums over which you have NO control? You are greatly overstepping your role as webmaster of the Puritan Board.

And Scott, when you threatened to contact the Monergism.com webmaster and have Joseph basically fired from being a prominent contributor, this appeared as an immature, angry and passive-aggressive maneuver on your part. A maneuver that will have no effect, I might add.

<b><u>THE BANNED</u></b>
Pastor Way - BANNED
John Sorrell - BANNED (No? Well he doesn't have posting privileges.)
Joseph Gleason - BANNED
Paul Duggan - BANNED (Why? Because he had some FV-friendly posting on his PERSONAL blog.)
Jeremy Conrad - BANNED after THIS post!!!

What is "FV" and why do I have to believe it? Is it something that is necessary for a Christian to believe? I'm curious now.

The above post is the case in point to this whole problem of FV.

FV (The Federal Vision) is a highly deviant "covenantal" theological child of the New Perspective on Paul, and a road that leads people back to High Roman Catholicism.

Its been condemend as antithetical to the Gospel by the RPCGA (those who oversee this board), and we've opted not to post "pro-FV" posts, or allow them.

Jeremy, U2U me if you want to be banned.

For the record, I contacted John Hendryx because the link Joseph provided for the section on covenant theology had heresy on it. Since Jopseph was now overseeing that area, I mistakedly perceived this as another attempt by Gleason to perpetuate the error. In response to my email, John immediately pulled the FV junk that was stinking up his ordinarily orthodox covenant theology section of his fine web page!

Here is the original email w/ John Hendryx's repsonse:

Hi John,
Scott Bushey here; co-owner of Puritan Board. Curious, the link below shows material from fed vis proponent Ralph Allen Smith.

http://monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/topic/Covenant-theology.html

I know you use material from fed vis as a resource to what is being put out there to the benefit of the church, but my concern with this link is that the material attached to the link above could be confusing to the weaker brother in that it is placed amongst orthodox systems of the covenant, seeming to be orthodox, when it in fact is not.

Should it not be placed here:

http://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/topic/new_perspective.html

or here:

http://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/topic/bad_theology.html

Just concerned.

Regards,

Scott Bushey

From J. Hendryx:

Scott:

Thank you for your email and for pointing that out.

grace and peace
John Hendryx
