i was quickly reading the thread about Pat Robertson and I was curious when the topic of modern day witches came up. Here is my question:
Do you believe that there are real modern day witches with real "power" ?

Yes. I know a couple. As far as "power" goes it depends what you mean. They don't claim to levitate but they do offer all sorts of "alternative" medical services.

i remember when i first got out of prison.... my first job, believe it or not, was driving a horse and carriage!
of course i was thinner then, and dressed very well.
one day this girl came up to me while i was waiting for a potential customer. she made small talk and asked me if i wanted to grab lunch. i told her a was a christian, and she replied that she was a witch!
she went on and on and on about how she was a "good" witch.
i don't where it came from, but i pointed my finger at her and declared, "mam... i'll have you know that the only good witch is a sandwich" that strange reply was all that was needed to break that little spell

Real witches today? Certainly.

Real power? Yes, in the sense that the devil and his minions are real and the occult is real. So we take their schemes and abilities seriously, and recognize that they fight with supernatural weapons.

But no in the sense that ALL things in heaven and earth are subject to Christ, and only hold such power as he allows. The devil's best game is still trickery. He would have us fear that he holds power over us -- that we the sons of God have reason to shudder before him. In truth, it is he who is scared.

A woman--a friend of mine, who is a member in good standing in a local church--was a witch. She was saved when she hit a low point and began to contemplate the demonic power she had . . . and then she realized that if Satan gave her that power, which she used to try to protect herself, God's love and power must be infinitely more. She was immersed in the occult, and then was saved. So yes, I do believe witches have power. What exactly this power is is another question.

Agreed, however chipwiches are good too (ice cream between 2 chocolate chip cookies).
