This is a much needed word Stephen, thanks for sharing. I find myself tempted towards hasty reading every now and then due to the sheer amount of books I'd like to read and this is a good reminder to guard against that.

I have a great deal of affection for Brooks. His Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices was the first Puritan work I read as a younger man and is what instilled a deep respect for the Puritans in me.
