Stand-Up Comedians

There are a slew of stand-up comedians who are either atheists or are so far from the truth that even they cannot explain their beliefs. Would it be acceptable (I know the world probably wouldn't like it) to have reformed stand-up comedians? Some stand-ups use comedy to also inform the public on what is happening as well as point out absurdities. Does not James White point out what is happening with E. Craner and the absurdity of the situation?

Unfortunately, what often tickles our itching ears passed off as humor is actually schadenfreude or mocking violations of the ninth commandment. I do long for the likes of Jonathan Winters when it comes to innocent humor.

I don't think a monologue of fundy, liberal, TBN & Finney jokes will be understood by too many people outside of the R community. High speed Beny Hinn videos set to Yakety Sax seem to work, for some reason

I used to love watching comedians. But as years went on and I learnt more, or at least hope I have, I watch very very few these days. Often Ill start to then turn them off. Some completely baffle me. They don't even say anything really funny and the audience is really only laughing at the swearing parts! The more they swear the more laughs they get. Watched one years back and he was bombing badly, then he started swearing his head off and the audience.
I know that's not what you guys are talking about specifically but its what I see with most these days.

I have to agree, I think the genre of standup generally relies on scoffing. I am not opposed to humor, but I think in order to do standup in a way that is perceived as funny you have to be a professional scoffer.

Tim Hawkins is really funny. He's a Christian. I don't think he's from a Reformed denomination, but a very funny guy.
