Someone please explain to me the kooky weather here in Illinois...after 20yrs, I still don't understand it!

It's been spring, then freezing, then spring, then snow.

We finally had spring here for about a week and then this morning it SNOWED...everything covered!
An hour after the snow stopped it's all gone! Like it never was...and I mean a decent amount of snow!!!

I am truely confuddled!

Weird weather is not a phenemenon confined to illinois... i sense it has something to do with the end times...:P according to hal lindsay, just as animals have a sixth sense about earthquakes and tornados, they also have a sixth sense about the secret rapture, so if your dog starts howling and your cat won't quit dancing in circles while meowing than you be better get ready for the rapture, least you get LEFT BEHIND...

I guess I got spoiled by Guam as a kid...wet season, dry season, a few typhoons a year, a couple of earthquakes, and a hurricane once in a blue moon. It was always predictable (except sunshowers...but you expected that to happen and those are so much fun to a kid!).

Well, about "weird weather" as we call it... i think there has been some hysteria about man's impact on the environment. I have an old book from the 1970s which makes light of the "coming ice age" and a prophesised calamity of a global frosting that was foretold by naysayers in scientific circles. Now, of course, we're all familiar with the global warming hysteria.

We've only been recording weather for little over 100 years with any accuracy, and even the most recent technological innovations (i.e. doppler radar, satellites, etc.) has its limitations. Finite changes of temperature over a few years that amount to a few degrees one way or the other often have evoked the aforesaid hysteria. I think we're only beginning to learn about the weather, and the existence of hundred-year weather cycles which operate are very much like seasons in the year. There is the intelligent design of the Creator in our ionosphere and atomosphere. Everything has a purpose.

Ready for spring here!
