Puritan Board Doctor
Did anyone watch it this season? I'm a big fan of acappella vocal music, and this season (just finished) was pretty good. Two caveats, though:
1. They should NOT have included rap this time around - rap is NOT singing.
2. The Great American Songbook was completely ignored. Gimme some Porter, the Gershwins, Irving Berlin, etc.
Almost all the groups were very good (they started with 16 and worked their way down to the winner). One group, Northshore, is a vocal group that's been around since the early '60s and is a gen-u-wine doo-wop group. They were excellent (but didn't win).
Looking forward to next season.
