Yikes!

I was tooling around on Amazon and saw exactly 1 set of John Gill's massive commentary on the OT and NT. It's the 9-volume Baptist Standard set (I think that's the publisher). The seller wants more than $450 for the set.

Libraries are looking better all the time...

(I know it's available online fer phrie, but it's nice to be able to hold one in your hands...)

The pricing of commentary sets makes no sense at times. Gill's 9 volume goes for nearly half a grand, but you can get Hendrickson or Calvin for less than a hundred. Go figure.

In this particular case, greed might have something to do with it.

Greed! Ha! I was right!

After posting that, I went to the Baptist Standard Bearer site (they are the publishers of the Gill set). They want $250 for the set (a new set; not used), and it's on sale from $350.

Don't think Amazon will get my vote this time. Heh.
