Weird Providence

Has anyone had a weird providence? This morning I wanted to order something online, but when I went to get my credit card, it wasn't there. I frantically looked for it but couldn't find it. I decided to do my daily Bible reading before I looked again. After I finished, I went to my computer, and there, in plain sight, was my credit card. The thing is I had already searched around my computer but had not found it. There is no way I could have missed it. Wonderful Providence of God.

This happens to me all the time. Usually in the form of mentally taking a note I need something; and sure enough, either I find it sitting on a curb; or, I find it in my local thrift store. I remember once; I needed a chair as the back had worn off mine. I went to walk to the store, and a lightly used chair is sitting on the curb for trash pick-up. Or like the other day; I was thinking of getting a bigger screen for my book editing, and sure enough, I walk into Goodwill and a 24 or 26 inch screen is on sale for $19.99. I remember being homeless one time in San Diego, and really struggling to have enough socks. All of a sudden, everywhere I looked where once used socks on the street in which I collected, and washed, and pretty soon I had about 30 pairs of socks as I was transitioning from homelessness to shelter. In almost every rightful desire I have had as of yet, the Lord has been faithful to fulfill; so much so I no longer doubt as to if; but expectingly wait as to when. It is to the point I can confidently know that it will either happen, or not happen according to his good will towards me.

Gods Providence is also what makes me content in my situation. Knowing he is the master and genesis of everything; both physical and spiritual; my situation in any area of my life could be changed; improved or worsened by his will at his discretion. I am not wealthy, because he doesnt desire me to be, nor am I poor because of his endless provision. If I am sick, can he not heal the lame? And if i am well, can he not cause illness? His providence is what brings sweetness to my sleep. If my eyes open again on this earth, so be it; but if not, my eyes will behold him instead.

Yes, Sister. All the time. God is so good to us and so kind. I am persuaded His sheep hear His voice, and see His handiwork in these instances of “weird providence” and glorify Him.

For me, the main thing I have experienced, is wondering how I am going to get all of my work done at my job, when there are so many things going on all the time. But through the years, he always seems to make a way. It's really interesting, and I'm so glad for his providential care.

We serve an amazing God indeed! I had been rather half heartedly contemplating a more heavy duty sewing machine. On my drive back from the post office someone had put a high quality, older style sewing machine, and bookshelves out for free collection (we do that a lot here in rural Australia). Sewing machine needed some cleaning, but works perfectly! The bookshelves also came in very handy. And! My middle daughter, unknown to me, had been wanting a sewing machine of her own. So she got my old one. Amazing love from our Father! Who even cares about the rather mundane aspects of our lives.

Amen! He cares even for the borrowed ax. (2 Kings 6:5-6)
