Willow Creek's Global Leadership Summit (and Discernment)

A church that I was attending (and probably will be leaving shortly) is a "satellite" host site for that annual event, and I had actually considered going last year, but was troubled that they would let just "anyone" be beyond the pulpit because they were a "somebody/celebrity" in this world, especially even a non-Christian.

I can imagine for the Reformed, it probably is something to avoid, but I've seen some Reformed churches host it as well.

Has anyone ever listened/watched any of the presentations and have thoughts on it?

In the midst of becoming reformed I went to this. Looking back now I would characterize it as far from biblical and mostly geared for training pastors/church leaders the CEO type model of church leadership. In other words, it is there to train you have to have unbiblical leadership. I don't recommend wasting one's time on this.

Thanks for this response. I won't be going...

I just don't know how someone could give up his pulpit to someone that the world says is "successful", and then allow that to filter into the minds of the pews/sheep. Not good.
