I was wondering if anyone had made good use of Vos' Commentary on Hebrews? From what I can see from the Amazon sample of the book, Vos' Commentary is topical not exegetical, but brings out some real historic-redemptive insights. Is this true?

Lane @greenbaggins I could not see this work in your commentary recommendations hence me asking. I was wondering as I thought you were one of the first pastors to recommend Vos :)

Stephen, it is not really a commentary on Hebrews, but more of a setting out of the theology of Hebrews. I would definitely recommend it, but not as a commentary.

Thanks Lane. I see on the Amazon sample page he has a chapter on "The epistles philosophy of revelation and redemption" so I would take it he has some of his insightful historic-redemptive insights in the book.

Does the professor ever write without historic-redemptive insight? :) That's what make his writing such a treasure.
