Puritan Board Freshman
Looking for the best books and treatments on the subject of effectual calling. Puritan/Reformed Orthodox/18th-19th century Presbyterian-era treatments would be preferred. Sections on this locus from systematic theologies or as a part of larger treatments of the ordo salutis would also be cool.

Stephen Charnock, Works V. 3, has several discourses pertaining to regeneration.
George Swinnock, Works, V. 5, has "The Door of Salvation Opened by the Key of Regeneration"

The Beeke set is top of my list right now, but I can't quite afford it... guess I need to start a book budget!
One thing that might help, is to possibly check something like Everand. They have a model for around $17.00 a month, where you can read 3 "major" publications, and unlimited "unlimited" ones (which looks to be many times like unknowns and public-domains.) It is not good so much for research, but for reading these larger books it may save some money, especially with accessing them. I know for the general reader, just a single volume of Reformed Systematic would take a month or more to read. So, it may still be a good deal for some. They also have a plan to unlock a single "major" publication for $11.99 a month, for people that don't have much time to read but still want to save compared to buying outright on Kindle.

I saw "A Treatise on Effectual Calling" by Christopher Love on Monergism the other day, does anyone know anything about that work?

RHB is having a great deal on it right now!

That is super tempting right now, but I just bought the 5 volume set of Witsius last week and I can’t in good conscience spend another $100+ on a set of books (especially because I am still raising support right now).

More in the way of supplementary material at this stage. Thomas Goodwin's Work of the Holy Spirit. Somewhere around books 4 and 5 for effectual calling. James Buchanan's Office and Work of the Holy Spirit has chapters on enlightenment, conviction, and renewal from a Scottish experimental perspective.
