10th Mountain Division

I can't remember who on the PB mentioned that his son was in the 10th Mtn. Div. But, I received this today and thought of him. So, in honor of that brave son I post this link. Thank you to the family and the soldier.

My oldest son is over in Afghanistan right now with the
10th Mountain Division out of Ft. Drum.

The man who is heading up from Bragg to Drum to become the next 10th Mountain Division Chaplain is a RPCNA chaplain... He's a good man. It is always a good thing when the man at the top is sympathetic to an evangelical ministry.

In a church that I served we had an elder who fought in Italy in the 10th. He was quite a man. I've always had a great respect for that unit.

I'm heading to Drum in June to serve with an infantry brigade. I hear a snow shovel may come in handy in Watertown.

For what it's worth, I was in the 10th Mountain Division myself, almost 20 years ago. Light infantry, totally during peace-time though.

I live less than two miles from the Great Bend side of Fort Drum. Half of the church I serve is made up of soldiers (and airmen) and and their families.

And we're frozen in snow and ice up here right now!
