Hi all,
I have had my current Bible for 10 years and just recently got it rebound in a vegetable tanned (sokoto) goatskin leather. (Please don't judge!) .
I've been a bit disappointed with a few things and was hoping they would both be fixable, but am very hesitant to do anything as I don't want to damage the Bible. Two things in particular I'd really appreciate any advice on:
1) There is a discoloured spot/mark on the front cover. Another leather person on seeing the picture said if it wasn't a natural defect in the leather, it was an "indentation" or "impression" and said these kinds of things are usually permanent. Such a bummer as this was a brand new rebind. Really hoping there might be some way to cover it up, but again, don't want to do anything that could damage the leather. Any suggestions?
2) The front page was a lambskin pasted down on paper, but the lambskin is now starting to peel off already. What's the safest way to glue leather to paper?
Thanks!!
