Discernment about accusations

One of my friends has two roommates and one roommate is accusing another roommate of wrongdoing, but the other roommate denies it. My friend is having trouble discerning which person is telling the truth. The wrongdoing involves something serious; it is not a trivial matter. If one person is accusing another person of doing something wrong and the other person denies it, how would you discern which person is telling the truth?

This is why the Bible says that all facts are established by the testimony of two or more witnesses. Sadly, if it comes down to "he said, she said", not much can be done.

Note that not even Solomon said "I believe woman A and not woman B", but rather came up with another solution for the truth to reveal itself.

It's a tough situation to be in.

I agree with Sean I would add we should be careful with accusations. If my neighbor is accused of murder I wouldn't send my wife over to see how true the accusation is, I would error on the side of safety.
