The nice thing about French is that it doesn't change as fast as English. The Segond is a sound translation.
I note that there is an updated Segond, called the
Segond 21, which claims to use «L'original, avec les mots d'aujourd'hui» ("The original with today's words"). I haven't looked through it much, though.
Other modern versions tend to be more like the English language NIV or worse.
