Gavin Beers and Drew Poplin interviewed on the Antichrist and Eschatology

Given the recent discussions on this board regarding Rome, and the apostasy of one member of the board to it, as well as the explosion of the question of the civil magistrate and the difference between the two Westminster Confessions, I thought it may well be valuable to share this.
The podcast Kingdom Polemics, hosted by Aldo Leon, had a helpful episode about two months ago on the Historicist hermaneutic for the book of Revelation, featuring an RPCNA pastor named Drew Poplin.
More recently, Gavin Beers, who has recently been receiving quite a bit of attention on this board himself, was interviewed on the issue of the Antichrist, and the Protestant identification of the papacy as being "that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition, that exalteth himself in the Church against Christ, and all that is called God."

I would recommend these episodes greatly (despite the slightly bombastic intro music), especially the one featuring Gavin Beers, as good introductions to the topic. Both also include book recommendations at the end, which is something this board loves to both give and receive

I thought that was a Christ-exalting, prophet-like warning of the insidious work of Satan through Rome. Beers may have moved me from identifying the pope as "an antichrist" to "the Antichrist." Thank you for posting that.

I have benefited greatly from the preaching/teaching of both Beers and Rev. Robert McCurley, both of which are in the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing). Many of my views on church/state (establishment principle), the Antichrist, regulative principle of worship issues (Psalms, instruments, holidays), etc. have been shaped by these men.
