He died on May 27th,1564.That's 440 years ago,for the
number-challenged folks. He was a great gift the Lord sent to His Church.

Another important date in Calvin's life: according to John McNeill, Calvin finished the first edition of the Institutes on August 23, 1535. Exactly 443 years later, on August 23, 1978, I was born. Coincidence? I think not.

What does it all mean!?!

My guess is absolutely nothing, but it is a cool bit of trivia about my birthday.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born on November 12, 1815. She was a pioneer of the early feminist movement. There ya go!

It is a shame Calvin did not live a little longer, he probably would have become a Baptist. j/k lol [/quote:2eb54a08d6]

Gee, awesome!

Better first wave feminist wanting voting rights than third wave feminist wanting abortion rights!

Well--in addition to today's obvious historical significance and the fact that God took Calvin home on that day--that's just one more reason to look back to his death day in good spirit today!

In Christ,

Chris

A quote from Christianity Today's website: "I just had to be here to fight for the next generation and the generation after that." This was said by a pro-abortion marcher at that big march they had in Washington, a marcher that apparently has no sense of irony. Fighting for the next generation by supporting the "right" to kill them? Makes sense to me! Or not.

Women have the vote these days? Sheesh... they'll be driving the newfangled horseless carriages next...

ME TOO

Cole,
My daughter was born Oct. 31 too. And given her semi-permanent smiley disposition, she seems to be pretty happy about it.

Here's a funny one ...

I like to joke to my two sisters that they picked interesting wedding dates:
1) [i:ed014f88cc]Independence[/i:ed014f88cc] Day
and
2) April 15

Speaking of odd personal dates, I never realized this before: I was born on April 4, and exactly nine months before that is July 4th.
