Nesting has begun...

Well, we've rearranged the livingroom this past weekend, I've been reorganizing things that are already organized, and tonight I am staying up late doing the third thing typical of me during pregnancy...

BAKING BREAD! Yes, hubby is thrilled. Only this time I'm trying SIL's recipe (and she sent over her Kitchen Aid mixer as a surprise!). I can't believe this...her recipe calls for a 2hr rising followed by a 10min rising, followed by a 1hr in pan rising. Well the 2hr is over, now in the 10min...then another hour and a half before I have a warm, buttered slice in my hand.

I have been on a bread making kick this week too. We have a bread machine and I have hardly used it so I am trying to find some good recipes. We also have a Kitchen Aid but I have never used it to make bread ! If yours turns out well can you send me the recipe? I made flax seed and sunflower seed bread this week and it was good but my hubby thinks it's too thick, not sure what to do about that.

Certainly! I'll let you know how it turns out. I love making bread, but prefer to do it by hand. The kitchen aid is fine, I just don't like bread machines (just a preference). I have a ton of recipes for bread, but always end up making the same ole. This will be a small change for me. The difference between the Kitchen Aid kneading it and hand kneading it is the density of the bread. (I'm guessing this is why mine and sil's turns out so differently)

I hate to but in, but I bake a good bit and some of your receipes sound intriguing. Is the a gender neutral thread?

Certainly...my momma couldn't cook anything beyond tuna helper. We would have starved if it hadn't been for my stepfather!

I like those bread makers-- my parents used to have one-- maybe they still have it and just got lazy--- unfortunately, I couldn't use it and make the bread right. IT was really good bread.
