PDA's, Palm-Pilots, etc.

Alright, Everybody, out with it! What kind of device are you holding and what are you doing with it?

I'll go first:
I have a Dell Axim X5, and I installed "Pocket E-Sword" on it and by doing so I have Charles Spurgeon's "Morning and Evening" devotional on it which has been a huge blessing!

(I think I got turned on to Pocket E-Sword from Scott Bushey. Was that you, Scott, who posted about that? Either Scott or Fred; I can't remember.)

I also put MP3's of good talks, etc. on it to listen to (although I rarely do).

iSilo is a nice utility. It can suck in HTML pages and turn them into documents to download to the PDA.

Technology scares me. I have a calendar, a Bible, and a devotional (also Morning & Evening, funnily enough).

I have slight Luddite tendencies, which come out to play with stuff like Palm Pilots.

Besides, don't you know our government tracks you by your Palm? And I hear MLB is actively involved. Bart Simpson told me so. Heehee.

Tom,

I noticed you have the PCA BCO on your PDA. Is it current and where did you get it? I have an older version of the BCO on my Palm and want to update it.

Also I have:

Calvin's Institutes
WCF, WLC and WSC all with Scripture proofs,
MyBible for PDA (great search function)

It's an older version (5th edition with 2000 amendments) I created for iSilo. I contacted the GA stated clerk a while back to ask about permission to update and distribute, and he came back and said "no".

I may update it just for my benefit. I originally put some effort into it, taking the online version in multiple pages and reformatting it into a single page/file to make it easier to search in iSilo.

I did the same thing in ISiloX, but it is a real pain to update it. Mine is from 2001. I have heard the same thing about the Stated Clerk. Seems strange that they won't allow a PDA version. The PCA needs to get with the program! Looks like I need to find the time to update my BCO.

BTW, since you live in PA, are you going over to Pittsburgh for GA?

I live outside Philly. I would love to get to GA, but I just started a new job recently and my time off (vacation time) has been greatly reduced.

I don't think any of our ruling elders will be there (pity).

For example, the best site(s) to download the Confessions, Reformed writings, etc....

Too bad. I think when the folks in Atlanta talk about how few RE's come to GA that they really don't take into consideration how difficult it is for RE's with a full time job to juggle their vacation schedule. Plus the cost of going. CPC is a small church and I am going on my own dime (fortunately I have the frequent flyer miles to cover getting there and back, but the hotel is on me )
