Just wondering. Does anyone on the board like hot tea? If so, what is your favorite type and how do you take it?

For those of you from the South, there is such a thing as hot tea. I know, it sounds weird, but it is true. Being from the South myself, I did not hear of this strange convention until I was a teenager. Since then, however, I have learned to embrace it. :biggrin:

My favorite is this blend that I get from an online retailer called Creme de la Earl Grey. It is, as you may have guessed, an Earl Grey with a cream flavor. Very tasty. I also like Lady Grey alot.

I like most flavors that aren't too strong. I tend to go more for the fruity flavors that Celestial seasonings, and Biglow have. Although in the winter I do like a little of the warmer more spicier flavors. I use three teaspoons of sugar/splenda, and sometimes depending on what I'm drinking, a dash of lemon juice.

I'm a regular tea drinker (mostly black tea). Tea has some health benefits such as floride for your teeth. I drink mine straight with no sugar (sugar rots out your teeth).

Do a search on google for the benefits of drinking tea. I think you'll be amazed at some of the health benefits.

Hot tea tastes best when you mix in lots of sugar (at a ratio of 2 cups per gallon; i.e. 1/8 cup of sugar per cup) and pour it into a glass full of ice....

Lapsang is good. I like darjeeling and earl grey as well.
Sometimes I drink bancha with lemongrass and ginger.

Has anyone tried the Zen tea by TAZO ? ? ?

That is another favorite when I am playing a game of GO.

Being of Scottish extraction, hot tea is an inevitable habit of mine. I drink it strong. Here is what is currently in the cupboard:

Laqsang Suchong (Twinnings loose)
Yorkshire Gold (Bag)
Prince of Wales (Twinnings loose)
Black Ceylon (Loose, my cousin in the 'old country' supplies me.)

My favorite is Green Tea, oohlong, Ginseng energy mix, Black breakfast tea.

Here in Florida we also drink alot of Iced Tea........

As far as hot tea is concerned, I like Biglow's English Tea with a little honey and Irish Cream or French Vanilla creamer.

My favorites are Twinings Black Currant and Bigelow Plantation Mint, they are great hot or "iced". Whenever I make ice tea out of these I get lots of compliments. I drink a lot of green tea too.

Twinings has several that I like - Irish Breakfast Tea (which I like better then English Breakfast Tea for some reason), Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Orange Pekoe, and Darjeeling.

I have figured out that I like India Teas and not China Teas (like oolong or lapsang souchoung).

Also, for a less pricey alternative, Tetley! LOTS of tea in the bag, and it makes a nice strong cuppa.

Of course, I also like Sweet Tea, especially in the summer. I make it diet, and use Splenda instead of sugar.

I ONLY drink tea with milk and Splenda. Can't do lemon, honey or straight. Yuck!

Mornings:
English breakfast
Irish Breafast
Stash Breakfast tea (probably my favorite of these)

Evening:
Peppermint
Tension tamer

Teas i don't like:
Earl Grey
Anything Bigelow


Of course, I love iced green tea. That is pretty much good any time of day.
