While our church Lord willing makes its way back towards having the Psalms be primal to our worship, I have determined to bring them back to a place of primacy in our family devotions.

Starting today, January 25, 2026, our family will have a Psalm of the week, where we spend extra time reflecting on that particular psalm, and learning it in a metrical form for memorization and singing. I also plan to print out a pocket sized reference for each psalm for the kids to keep with them.

Our first psalm is Psalm 1!

Today in discussing Psalm 1, we talked about how Christ is the man of blessedness, and about how the psalm shows us how he conducted himself in every facet of his earthly life.

The psalm talks about his walking, his standing, and his sitting; not in the way of the ungodly, sinners, or scorners (verse 1); but how he rather took delight in meditating on the Word of God constantly.
