What's with Libronix and the FV???

Has anyone noticed a couple of the latest pre-pub collections over at Libronix?

Peter Leithart (6 volumes) and Douglas Wilson (17 volumes).

Very interesting.

My guess is that because these works are self-published (Canon Press) they are easily converted into Logos format (i.e. they are already digitized).

I am guessing, but I think it is directly related to their hiring Phil Gons, and him making known the value of those works.

I just got Owen, Cunningham and Bannerman's works.

Know that thy work is appreciated.

For my own part, I would be helped by commentaries, since Logos is very helpful with things like its passage guide. I hardly ever (if ever!) sit down and read a Libronix book, but I use them all the time in sermon prep.

Wilson did a recent review for Libronix. I don't know, but I suspect that as an author and new Libronix convert he saw the potential of a new market.

Phil, for my part,
1) Banner of Truth's entire catalog and especially archives of their magazine.
2) )The Reformed Expository Commentary Series (P&R).
3) CCEF. I'd like to see their very helpful Journal of Biblical Counseling be redeployed from PDF format into Libronix and to see some electronic versions of the books and pamphlets by Powlison and others. Also the stuff coming out of Shepherd's press (another counseling publisher).
4) The material from RBAP with Waldon's seminal commentary on the 1689. As you probably know, Galaxie already publishes the RBTR as part of the Theological Journals Library (one of the most valuable resources in my library).

It also needs to be remembered that Logos' making materials available is the not the same as endorsing those materials. Many of us buy books that we would not endorse. I have a Book of Mormon , The Purpose Driven Church , The Late Great Planet Earth and even a book by Schuller . It helps to have reference to many who we disagree with.

I remember participating in the interrogation of David A. Hubbard (then President of Fuller), when he came before our ordination council to transfer his credentials to the ABC. Hubbard had puffed that HORRIBLE Schuller self esteem book in a quote printed on the back cover. So I asked, "Dr. Hubbard, is this [holding up the book] really your view of sin, salvation, and sanctification?" Usually famously unflappable, I have never seen a mature leader backpeddle so fast in my life!

YES, thank you for some of the outstanding volumes released in the last year. Some of the upcoming prepubs are also simply AMAZING! I already have pre-pub orders in on Manton, Sibbes, Muller, Baker Theology Collection, Baker Hermeneutics Collection, Hodge, Kuyper, Owen's Hebrews, Cunningham, JBL, Exegetical Summaries, etc.
