What is the history and meaning behind the Blue Banner used by the RPCNA ("For Christ's Crown and Covenant")? I found a thread about it that referenced links that are now dead. Is the "Covenant" the Solemn League and Covenant or is it referencing another covenant?

As the earliest use is 1639 it must refer originally to the National Covenant which had been recently extended and renewed in 1638. The SL&C of 1643 would have been included after that time, and both covenants are specifically mentioned in the testimonies of the covenanting martyrs.
