Puritan Board Doctor
...because I thought it might be fun to come down with pneumonia.

It started with what I thought was a head cold, which quickly became worse, burrowing in my chest. I went to the doctor. At first, he thought I had a viral infection, prescribing prednizone and a cough syrup. A week later, I was not improved - in fact, I felt worse. Examining me again, he decided I had pneumonia. So, he prescribed an antibiotic (doxycyl) and more of the same cough syrup. He also had me have a chest x-ray.

Well, having taken all the prescribed medicine, I am feeling better. Today (March 20) is the start of week 5 of this thing. I still feel somewhat weak and tire easily, and am easily winded. But, overall, I feel much better (especially as compared to a couple of weeks ago).

By the way, if you want to lose a few pounds, pneumonia is an effective (if brutal) way to go about it, since I ate next to nothing for about 3 weeks. Heh.

Boy, am I sick of orange juice...

I could use the weight loss, but I'm not that fond of the stated method. I'm glad you recovered from this. My doc gave me an immunization shot for P because I'm prone to bronchitis & type 2 diabetic. You may want to ask about getting this, especially if you have another condition that may put you at higher risk. If I make it to 65, I'll be getting a booster.

I'm looking forward to getting the shot that protects against shingles when I turn 60 in November.

That one is for those who had chicken pox, correct?

Correct. And I had 'em all, too. Chicken pox, the mumps - even mono when I was 8. Diseases love me, I guess.
