Hi, everyone.

The Washington State Democrats have been selling a fish magnet on their website. It features the Christian symbol of the fish, surrounded by hellish flames with both a cross and the word "hypocrite" emblazoned on it. (I have a picture but can't figure out how to post it.) And they call US intolerant and bigoted!

The funny thing about the whole episode is the State Chair's apology: "I'm sorry if anybody was offended." A classic example of modern non-repentant repentence.

The WA democrats are about as liberally wacko as you can get in this country. San Fransico is about the only place more far left then they are. So I'm not surprised. Plus, WA state, the last I heard, was the most unchurched state in the union. Certainly, these Democrats are absolute hypocrites but is anyone surprised? You should try living there :)

This is the worst part. It happens all too often in Christian circles.

Elders: never accept "I am sorry if someone was offended" Read: "No one should have been offended, and I had a perfect right to do what I did, but since someone was offended, I will acknowledge his offense and regret that he was too simple or foolish to realize he should not have been offended."

One should only repent what what one does, not the emotions or reactions of another.

actually its Corporate interests that own the Main Stream Media. The left gets angry at the mainstream media just like the right.

whacked out lefties seem to be in charge of the democratic party. They have drowned out the voice of the pro life democrats as well as the ones of faith. rabid feminists, homosexuals and athiests are the controlling element.

Imagine just to run, one has to fulfill the "Pro Choice" criteria.
 
the stages one goes through are
1. Denial.
2. Anger
3. Acceptance

then we simply vote according to our pocket books. ;)

I've learnt it the hard way. The first and foremost responsibility I have is to live obediently in God's eyes. Politicians are gonna get what's coming to them.

Their worst hypocrisy is over censorship. When they put their filth on the public air waves, they say, "Just turn the channel or turn it off".
But if there is a cross on a hillside or public symbol they say, "It's offensive- remove it!"

Actually I'm not worried about the above free speech in a flaming fish symbol- at least it's free speech. We should take more notice that saying "Merry Christmas" is deemed offensive. That works out to BANNING fish symbols on my car.:chained:

I'm seriously thinking about it. i just don't know if I have the gifts for church planting. The OPC as planted 3 or 4 new churches out there over the last few years so who knows. I often can identify with Paul mourning over his countrymen.

Liberals like NY Times. That's like the Liberal Bible. My father works as a security guard there, so I get free NY Times whenever he works the nightshift.

Anyway the same reporter that leaked Valerie Plame's name worked for the NY Times and she was bossom buddies with the Bush Administration and helped promoted the war by stating Saddam had WMDS.

While the NY Times is Liberal, it is much more Corporate.

I understand but my point is the MSM(Main Stream Media CBS,NBC,etc.) most of the time is far left.A good example is the election in Iraq yesterday.Most people who just listen exclusively to MSM probably think "What election?",or may not see the big deal about it.While I would have rather the USA go after somebody else(Iran,Syria) way before Iraq I do see the importance of the election over there.
 
sorry Joey, I myself don't see the big deal of an elections over there :D

Since becoming a Christian, I don't proselytize democracy any more, but I do proselytize a stable and just society where the Gospel is preached. If this society is a democracy, a dictatorship, a monarchy or an oligarchy, I could care less.

Right now, any democratic ideals in Iraq would backfire, because of the balkanized nature of the country. What will happen is the rabid religious Sunnis will simply gain control of the institutions of the country and an Iranian like country will come to the fore. Of course this is why U.S Military bases will be needed.

Ironically under Saddam who was a secularist, Christians were free to practice their faith, now they are being attacked and have to flee to Jordan. What is sad is that Saddam likewise hated religious extremists.

But I think NBC, CBS etc all have better news to report like the hottest selling Toys for this Christmas, and how not to put on extra weight over the Holidays :D

That's a good point. We do need to remember our evangelistic task. Still, I get so exasperated that the post-modern notion of tolerance extends to everyone except Christians.
 
Canada has the same problem. The Liberal Party (note: that's their name, not a label I've given them) has no problem with completely disrespecting anyone with a differing opinion.

At a Liberal convention this spring which I saw on TV, the Liberals decided on their general ideals. When they debated whether or not to support legalizing gay marriage (note: marriage, not civil union) several people (seriously, only two or three) argued that perhaps they should be against legalizing gay marriage.

How do you think the rest of the convention reacted? Did they listen? Did they applaud or simply say they disagreed? Of course not. They booed the people and told them to "shut up". They deliberately booed so loudly that the people could not be heard, and had to stop. THEY BOOED MEMBERS OF THEIR OWN PARTY!!!

And this is the party in power!!
