Man, yes, I heard about Post Purge! That sounded brutal! I think Josh told me he lost some posts in the Purge!Summer of 2002, if I remember right. I think I was number 8 to sign up. It was up for a while, but grew so fast that it had to be restarted in September. At the time the format was a bit more basic. If you go to the "Members List" and click on "Join Date" it'll give you a list by date. It's sort of funny in a way though, because I have thousands of posts. During seminary I was less active and Scott deleted a lot of threads, dwindling my numbers down below 100. Now I show up as a Sophomore...Oh how embarrassing.

No David! Sadly I never found it! In that thread I was seeking the OLDEST surviving PB Thread, and even then I thought the PB only went back to 03, I would still like to find the original Thread and Post, I think it would be a hoot to look at.
Looks like you got the answer some months ago, Etexas!

I also find much to be desired in the framework view that sees the whole PB in some sort of "light and heat" were created on the first day while "more heat than light" was created on the fourth day. That's just complete bunk!

That's because some members are no longer with us.Summer of 2002, if I remember right. I think I was number 8 to sign up. According to the members list, you are #4!
The important ? is this:"Is the PB a product of ID?"I'd like to quote the greatest theologian ever. That's correct, Norman Geisler. As I heard him state once: "It depends on when you ask me?"
Some days I'm a Young PBer. Other days I'm an old PBer. I definitely don't subscribe to the gap theory of the PB. Tommy Chong voice:Wow, man.I have found what I believe to be one of the oldest PB threads. It has been buried because, frankly, it didn't leave the posters in the best view. It's a long thread but I will just paste the end of the thread so you get an idea of why it 'disappeared'. It was between a Swiss "UZwing" and a stubborn German "MartinL"
MartinL:
Before I drink mere wine with the Swiss I shall drink blood with the pope.
UZwing:
I resent you treating me like an @$$. Your views are not much more than superstition. You would have Christ's people biting their Lord and chewing on him.
MartinL:
And you would have Christ's people suffer through an empty celebration.
UZwing:
Empty celebration? At least it wouldn't be cannibalism.
MartinL:
You are of the devil and are nothing but a wormy nut.
UZwing:
You are displaying a total lack of Christian charity. The Lord's Supper is a memorial.
MartinL:
THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ! THE BODY OF Christ!
UZwing:
I have enjoyed this forum but it is not worth putting up with this kind of assault. Good bye and blessings to you all.
MartinL:
Moderators! That man is of a different spirit completely.
Moderator:
This thread has been closed due to an uncharitable spirit. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
(UZwing never returned to the Board and MartinL was suspended indefinitely.)

Now that's funny.Yes, the server was kept in Marburg. The moderators at that time were Johannes Agricola, Johannes Brenz, Martin Bucer, Caspar Hedio, Justus Jonas, Philipp Melanchthon, Johannes Oecolampadius, William Ocelot and Andreas Osiander.

September 2002. I was a baptist teenager when I joined![]()
In other news:
Out of all of the people with a "Z" name on the PB, I have the most posts.
Do I get an award?
